The US Postal Service will expand recycling programme to small electronics including inkjet cartridges.

Clover Technologies Group will be assisting the US Postal Service’s (USPS) bid to expand its recycling programme for small electronic devices including inkjet cartridges, mobile phones and other miscellany, reports Post and Parcel.

Consumers will be able to check the value of certain items on the USPS website, and request a free Priority Mail envelope. Consumers will subsequently be paid once items have been received.

Items deemed worthless will also be recycled free of charge by the service.

The expansion is being conducted with the support of MaxBack which is owned in addition to its parent company Environment Reclamation Services by Clover Technologies. Clover Technologies has been assisting USPS’ recycling programme since 2008.

Thomas G. Day, Chief Sustainability Officer, USPS, commented: “Out network infrastructure and logistical capability to deliver to every residence and business in the US make the Postal Service a logical partner with a premiere recycler like MaxBack to maximise this green initiative.”
