New line bids to converge existing office systems and services rather than connect.
Canon USA has announced the next generation of imageRUNNER ADVANCE printers, stated as “designed to transform workflow from a series of individual processes to a continuous, integrated flow of shared information”.
Although information regarding fundamentals including printed pages per minute has yet to be made public, the MFPs are stated as featuring the following functionality: Cloud Portal, a cloud-based print and scan solution; Direct Print and Scan for mobile, which will enable print and scan functionality between iOS and Blackberry devices, as well as Canon MFPs; EFI PrintMe, to allow cloud printing from emails; uniFLOW, a server-based management function; and Canon Mobile Printing, to be released later in 2012 and will potentially allow wireless printing from iOS devices.
The imageRUNNER ADVANCE models will be available in Q4 2012, with the first models to be released include the CS5255, C5250, C5240 and C5235, followed by the monochrome 6275, 6265 and 6255 models.
