Supplier of remanufactured franking machine cartridges receives accreditation from safecontractor.
Totalpost has announced that it has achieved a safety accolade for its health and safety practices from safecontractor, a programme which recognises very high standards of health and safety practices amongst UK contractors.
Having undergone a “rigorous vetting process” examining its health and safety procedures and assessing its track record for safe practice, Totalpost was awarded the safecontractor standard and will be included on the safecontractor database.
Commenting on the company’s achievement, David Hymers, Managing Director of Totalpost, said: “As a manufacturer, distributor and supplier working across multiple industries and within many different businesses, good health and safety practice is an essential part of our culture at Totalpost. We are very pleased to have been recognised by safecontractor and believe that it will give our customers increased confidence in our abilities to undertake contracts in a safe and responsible manner.”
John Kinge, Technical Director of safecontractor, commented: “Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place.
“More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Totalpost has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector.”
The Recycler reported last week on the introduction of the Health and Safetey Executive’s (HSE) Fee for Intervention (FFI) scheme, which came into force from 1 October and will see companies found to be in “material breach” of health and safety regulations being charged for health and safety inspections.
