Aftermarket franchise launches service allowing customers to purchase cartridges online, to be trialled by 13 stores.
Cartridge World UK has announced 
the launch of its new e-commerce service embedded within its existing website that will allow customers to purchase printer cartridges online.
The service will be trialled by 13 stores across the country, and will focus on three new services: Same Day Delivery, which ensures that customers ordering before 12:00pm will receive their printer cartridges the same day; Click and Collect, allowing consumers to purchase cartridges online and collect from a participating store; and a Free Postal Delivery service.
13 stores will be “trialling” the three services: Accrington, Aylesbury, Blackburn, Chester, Derby, Ellesmere Port, Fareham, Harrogate, Hereford, Rawtenstall, Kings Heath, Sittingbourne and Portslade.
Stoke-on-Trent, Goring and Littlehampton will also be offering the Click and Collect service. Free Postal Delivery, not beholden to a physical store, will be available throughout the country.
The website also touts a newly-added ‘Printer Detective’ application, noted as “scan[ning] a customer’s computer, determines which printer they have, then identifies which cartridge are most suitable”.
Cartridge World UK Chairman John Richardson commented: “As a company, we’ve invested a lot of time and effort in developing the e-commerce services. In an age when most items can be bought electronically, we were keen to make our printer cartridges readily available online for our customers. This online capability is supported by excellent quality products and a local service provided by our store network.”
Richardson also spoke on the Printer Detective, noting: “The Printer Detective is a great piece of software which will make our customers’ lives easier, as it shows them exactly which cartridges they need to order. We wanted to make the e-commerce journey simple from start to finish and the Printer Detective more than plays its part in that.”
A number of Cartridge World stores have been participating in a Charity Champions scheme, awarding local charitable individuals with gift hampers, in conjunction with the franchise’s ‘We Deliver’ to promote the new online functionality including Bromsgrove, Manchester and Altrincham, and the aforementioned Ellesmere Port.
