Printer manufacturer makes reseller agreement with connectivity solutions provider.

The partnership between OKI Data and California-based Lantronix will see the OEM become the first printer manufacturer to resell Lantronix’s xPrintServer iOS print server appliance through the channel community, reports ITbusiness.ca.

OKI will market and sell the xPrintServer devices along with a variety of its own compatible LED/Laser printers to customers requiring enhanced mobile printing solutions, with the xPrintServer being able to convert existing printers to become compatible with iOS.

According to the article, OKI initially intends to resell the xPrintServer Office Edition, which allows large workgroups to directly print from iOS mobile devices rather than needing to download mobile applications. It also “offers customisable settings and security options” and can be used with both USB and network-connected printers.

Also as part of the agreement, Lantronix “will refer OKI Data’s products to members of its network that are in need of customised printing solutions”.

Keith Fenton, Product Planning Manager for MFP Software and Solutions at OKI Data Americas, commented: “This agreement bolsters OKI Data’s position as a valued printing solutions provider to our enterprise customers. By offering the xPrintServer with our single- and multi-function printers, OKI Data is able to provide mobile printing solutions to help optimise performance within specific workgroup environments quickly, easily and cost effectively.”
