Financial Group purchases 36.12 million ordinary shares of Pelikan.
ECM Libra Financial Group Bhd has acquired 36.12 million ordinary RM1 ($0.32/€0.25) shares of Pelikan International Corp Bhd, representing seven percent of the company, reports FMT News.
The purchase was finalised on 13 December and comes following China Stationery Ltd’s acquisition of 9.7 percent of Pelikan International.
Pelikan International is currently undergoing extensive restructuring following a disappointing 2012 that saw double-digit decline and “weak business development” in printer supplies.
Pelikan has since announced its intentions of developing and complementing its business in China, seeing the region as a growth area, and plans to open a research and development centre with Shanghai and Shenzhen likely candidates for location.
