The OEM is preparing to release its newest raft of LaserJet devices for the global market.
The machines have been “designed specifically to redefine business and govern printing” with the maxim of “enabling customers to reduce costs, increase efficiency and digitise the office”. The OEM notes that the new devices “represent the largest upgrade” to its commercial printing arm in almost a decade.
Central to the new devices is the Flow concept, implemented by software and hardware. The Flow concept consists of “higher performance document processing and sharing” to “speed the transition from a paper to a completely digital office environment”. Flow also consists of a content management system called Flow CM Professional, which offers cloud printing and computing.
The two new devices utilising this innovation are the LaserJet Enterprise Flow MFP M525c and the Enterprise Color Flow MFP M575c. Interestingly, the Flow software has been designed to work with software from Autonomy, the UK company acquired by HP and which is currently being sued by the OEM.
The M525c features print speeds of 42 ppm for letter sized monochrome prints and 40 ppm for A4, with a first page print time of 8.5 seconds. The machine’s print resolution is 600 x 600 dpi and a monthly duty cycle of 75,000 pages. The M575c meanwhile features a print speed of 31 ppm with a first page print time of 10.5 seconds, and again features a print resolution of 600 x 600 dpi.
Todd Bradley, Executive Vice President of HP’s Printing and Personal Systems, stated: “Our customers need innovative technology tailored to their workflow that is simple and effective, and helps them conduct business. HP is offering new ways to print that have not previously been possible – with superb speed and performance to drive a new level of office efficiency.”
On the Flow CM software, one particular customer, TICKETsage CEO Stephen Cassar, added: “The HP Flow CM Professional and HP flow MFPs offer us an opportunity to improve employee productivity via collaboration and streamlined processes, allowing us to focus more time toward our customers and overall business.
“We see these offerings as having a very positive impact on our business – making it easy to scan documents, or find them in the cloud-based document management system and easy to print out information.”
