The aftermarket manufacturer has produced “Intelligently Re-Engineered” cartridges for the machine.
The cartridges, designed to replace the CE740A and CE743A OEM consumables in the colour laser printer, were remanufactured under the manufacturer’s ACT (Advanced Colour Technologies) system, including the Secondary Cleaning System (SCS).
The HP CP5225 machine, released in January 2010, is an A3 or tabloid-sized machine that replaced the 10-year old HP 5500 laser machine, which MSE states “many considered […] to be the most challenging cartridge in market history”, due to issues including “streaking, backgrounding, leaking and fuser wrapping with full bleed prints”.
The company noted however that its ACT system “addressed all of these issues and the result was a superior quality aftermarket 5500”, and added that since its SCS technology scales to A3, the results with the new cartridge “are the same” including “consistently high-quality remanufactured colour cartridges”.
Yoel Wazana, President of MSE, stated: “The SCS is not just helpful in these new applications, we look at it as necessary. We have even seen toner additives build up in OEM benchmarking that improves after installing our SCS. In addition to the elimination of toner additive build up defects, we have addressed fuser wrapping problems with custom, co-developed raw materials that allow for borderless printing, which is common in A3 applications.”
