Mariko Azuma of Ricoh (web)OEM listed for ninth year in recognition of sustainability efforts.

Ricoh has announced that it has once again been named as a global top 100 corporation for sustainability, with the news being unveiled at the Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland. The list recognises companies that are best-positioned to succeed in a ‘clean capitalism’ economy, which incorporates social, economic and ecological costs and benefits and indicates that the organisations are aware of the full impacts of their actions. It involves the assessment of 4,000 companies worldwide.

Ricoh claims that it is committed to reducing its CO2 emissions by 87.5 percent by 2050 and that it is also helping its clients to reduce their environmental impacts, with its Total Green Office Solutions providing a range of environmentally friendly products and services for both large and small businesses.

Mariko Azuma, General Manager of CSR Division, commented: “Ricoh has been named in the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations list since its inception in 2005. Such recognition is a great affirmation to Ricoh and our employees that our focus on sustainable business operations is making a real impact. In particular the awarding body recognised our achievements in three areas: First in resource management where we continue to be committed to carbon reduction in all our activities, second in financial management where our innovative approach was highlighted and finally for employee management with an emphasis on safety and diversity.”
