UK cartridge recycler helps charity by raising almost £40,000 since 2011.
Recycling Factory has announced that it has surpassed its fundraising target for 2012, with the company raising almost £2,000 ($3,146/€2,340) more than its £20,000 ($31,500/€23,400) donation target, which will be awarded to national charity MS Society.
The partnership between Recycling Factory and the charity has seen almost £40,000 ($63,000/€46,800) being raised since it began in 2011, with money being raised through the company’s collection and recycling of inkjet cartridges, as well as mobile phones and gadgets such as MP3 players, digital cameras and hand-held game consoles.
MS Society is the UK’s largest charity dedicated to supporting sufferers of multiple sclerosis, the most common disabling neurological condition affecting an estimated 100,000 young adults in the UK alone.
Commenting on the partnership, Donna Wingfield, Business Development Manager for The Recycling Factory said: “We are delighted with the continued dedication and support that both the charity and its supporters continue to show for the recycling scheme. Having raised almost £40,000 so far demonstrates the commitment and loyalty of its supporters and it is this level of dedication that has enabled the charity to reach its 60th anniversary in 2013.”
Speaking on behalf of MS Society, Barbara Spreadborough, Corporate Account Manager for the charity, said: “Our partnership, which has been a tremendous success so far, has been boosted by The Recycling Factory’s commitment to marketing and promoting the scheme. This additional support has resulted in raising even more funds which enables the MS Society to continue to make a real difference to the lives of people affected by multiple sclerosis.”
