Legacy Imaging to close Mexican factory

NogalesInkjet cartridge remanufacturer’s production facility in Nogales, Mexico, to abruptly close.

Legacy Imaging, a remanufacturer of inkjet cartridges based in Denver, Colorado, says that the closure of its factory in Nogales, Mexico comes after 90 days of working on a merger that got as far as the signing alter before the investor decided to walk away from the deal.

“It’s really too bad because we finally had the sales, factory right sized, and team in place to make the company very profitable,” said Legacy Imaging’s Michael Frothingham. “There will be three of us winding the company down trying to liquidate inventory, equipment, and collect money.”

Legacy Imaging is not the only remanufacturer to be struggling financially recently, with The Recycler reporting earlier this month that UK remanufacturer Phoenix Printer Solutions Ltd. has entered liquidation.
