Refill processRefill machine manufacturer explains why vacuum filling is needed to effectively refill printer cartridges.

Turkish cartridge refill machine manufacturer MIS Computer has discussed how vacuum filling works in the refilling of ink cartridges, explaining that the technique allows air to be removed from a cartridge that would otherwise cause a blockage, as ink is prevented from reaching the print head due to the difference in weight between air and ink.

The company also explains that “using this technique also primes the print head” allowing the ink to be “pulled down through the print head” so that printing can commence immediately after refilling.

MIS Computer has gone on to produce four videos further demonstrating the vacuum filling process and the basics of ink cartridge refilling, which can be viewed here. It also states that all of its refill machines feature the vacuum filling technique, ensuring that cartridges will continue to print after refilling.
