Canon imageCLASS MF8280Cw and MF8580Cdw printers designed for home and office users.
Technology website Slash Gear reports that Canon will release two new MFPs as part of its imageCLASS range, with the devices available for purchase in April.
Improving on the previous models’ features, the new printers offer modern features including compatibility with Google Cloud Print as well as Canon’s iOS app, “Canon Mobile Printing”, enabling users to print flexibly and on the go.
The MF8280Cw, which will be priced at $499 (€385), boasts print speeds of 14 pages per minute for both colour and monochrome printing, producing “consistent and accurate” prints using Pure Black and Auto Graduation Adjustment technologies. It also features a 150-sheet cassette, 50-sheet auto document feeder and a single sheet tray.
Meanwhile, the MF8580Cdw will be priced slightly higher at $599 (€463) due to its faster print speeds of 21 pages per minute for colour and monochrome printing. In addition, print jobs can be set up remotely and can be done via “out-of-the-box” duplex printing. It can also perform two-sided faxing, scanning and copying via its seven-line display, with the option for scans to be faxed and emailed directly from the printer.
In terms of capacity, the device holds a 250-sheet front cassette, 50-sheet multi-purpose tray and an optional extended capacity 250-sheet cassette.
Commenting on the launch of the two new MFPs, Sam Yoshida, Vice President and General Manager of Canon’s Business Imaging Solutions Group, said: “To remain competitive in this market, home and office users need workhorse products that produce professional quality output at affordable prices. The new Color imageCLASS laser multifunction printers are high-performance machines that include necessary functions such as wireless connectivity to help create an efficient work environment.”
