Cartridge parts supplier’s new website allows customers to search for products online with ease.
Proton has announced that it has launched a new website designed to provide an easy way to search its products, from covers or shipping locks to conversion kits, using either words or figures.
Philippe Roucou, the owner of Proton and inventor of plastic rail clips used to re-assemble hoppers of split cartridges, commented that it is important to have an up-to-date website in the aftermarket industry: “My opinion is that the market is growing fast, there is no month without a new model of printer. To guarantee our customers the best communication, it is important to show a nice window of possible products to use as raw material. Our website will also help customers to follow their delivery using links on the Etracking websites of Proton’s carriers.”
Roucou added that while the website could reduce the relationship between customer and supplier, “a nice showcase helps to make a quick opinion about one product”. He also explained that “on the article page, we have created some buttons allowing customers to directly ask for a quotation, download a full Excel list of products, or email a member of staff to make sure they know about the product(s) or to ask if there is a real interest”.
Roucou went on to explain that Proton was able to achieve the “first cartridge conversion from one model to a complete new one”, transforming an EP-A cartridge so that it could be used in a HP 1100 printer, and added that “more or less, it is always possible to change ‘A’ cartridge into ‘X’ cartridge when you are missing the ‘X’ empties.
“One funny thing is that during the years, we have worked to convert older models into new ones. However, now we have more and more requests to convert new ones into “’very old’ ones because of empties shortages.”
