The centre in New Jersey will collect used devices for remanufacturing.
The company stated that the centre, based in Roselle in New Jersey, will be a printer and part core collection centre, with a site space of 3500 square feet. The company notes that the products to be collected will be “recycle[d] through remanufacturing”
The centre, according to Metrofuser, will be “capable of processing a variety of shipments from the tractor trailer load to small parcel collection of HP and Lexmark printers” and parts, with such components including fusers, formatters, transfer belts and kits, JetDirects, PIUs and paper trays.
Metrofuser added that “unlike other collection programmes” the one based at this centre “depends more on rebuilding and reclamation providing a new service life and less on processing or disposal”. It goes on to state that it will assume the “responsibility and cost of recycling to keep containers of parts from going into landfills while compensating the participants”.
The company offers a range of compensation programmes for those offering devices and components for remanufacturing, including store credit, direct payment, charitable donation, core bank and urban economic enterprise. The centre will, Metrofuser concludes, “through commerce […] make a direct impact into one of the fastest recovering communities in the state”.
