Xerox has announced that it has appointed current CFO of The ADT Corporation, Kathryn Mikells, as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Vice President, with Xerox CEO Urula Burns commenting that Mikells “brings to Xerox extensive experience in financial management coupled with broad global business acumen in both services and technology”.

Burns added that Mikells was favoured for the roles due to “her demonstrated success in transforming complex business models” which “complements the strengths of Xerox’s management team and will help us further advance our services-led growth initiatives”.

Prior to her role as CFO of The ADT Corporation, in which she purportedly helped guide the company’s transition into an independent publicly traded company following its separation from Tyco, Mikells was CFO of Nalco, a global provider of water treatment and energy technologies. She was also Executive Vice President and CFO of UAL Corporation, the parent company of United Airlines, at which she worked for in various leadership roles for 16 years, as well as spending six years in the financial services industry at GE Capital, Household International and CIBC.

Commenting on her new positions with Xerox, Mikells said: “With more than half of Xerox’s revenue now coming from services, the company’s global growth opportunities are as impressive as its well-respected brand and innovation. Xerox is well down its strategic path toward building sustainable value for all its stakeholders. It’s a privilege to be part of such a reputable enterprise and to have the opportunity to contribute to Xerox’s future success.”
