Components manufacturer “delighted” to support PACTO in its efforts against clones.
Italian remanufacturing association, Porduttori Associati Cartucce Toner (PACTO), has won the support of Static Control following a meeting between the association and components manufacturer at Static Control’s headquarters in Sanford, North Carolina.
PACTO, which was established in 2009, aims to promote any initiative that helps to support the development and progress of the Italian remanufacturing industry, and is made up of members from Sapi, Microlaser, Tecnolaser Europa and Eco-Recuperi. It claims that genuine remanufacturers currently hold a 10 percent share of Italy’s eight to nine million-unit cartridge market, with the government accounting for around three million of the total market sales.
At the meeting in March, PACTO and Static Control discussed their goals, one of which is to target government bodies to raise awareness of the industry’s fight against clone manufacturers. In addition, they are working with the Ministry of the Environment to promote the industry’s contribution to the green economy, and promote the awareness to the public of the positive and green contributions the remanufacturing industry makes.
Ken Lalley, European Vice President of Sales at Static Control, said: “We are delighted to support PACTO and look forward to working with them in the same way we have ETIRA, the I-ITC, UCKRA in the UK, ABRECI in Brazil and CAMOCA in Argentina.
“The emerging clone issue is a very real threat to our industry but by working together, we can strengthen our position and safeguard our future. Static Control will continue to support any association prepared to join the genuine remanufacturers around the world in our joint fight against the clones.”
