Range of A3 and A4 colour MFPs incorporating technologies from both vendors announced.
Reseller News reports that the two vendors have joined forces to develop new MFPs designed for business printing that will be available worldwide; with the companies hoping to achieve sales of 30,000 units globally over the next year as they expect demand for A4 colour MFPs to expand by around 10 percent year-on-year.
The devices feature Toshiba’s Open Platform controller technology, enabling systems integrators to develop “additional solutions to enhance workflow integration”. In addition, the printers will use OKI’s Digital LED engines, which Paul Francois, Oki Product Manager at New Zealand-based distributor Comworth, said have “played a central role in [OKI devices’] key selling points: speed and reliability”.
Francois added: “Customers want print control, document management and easy integration of these devices into their environment. These new high performance OKI colour MFPs are designed to meet these specifications and are ideal for the mid to large workgroup segment.
“Additionally, providers of Managed Print Services will find the new devices an ideal platform for winning new clients. The reliability and longevity associated with the digital LED print engine, combined with Toshiba Tec’s Open Platform technology, makes this range an ideal platform for the provision of cost-effective ‘pay per print’ services.”
