Totalpost manufacturing team 3 (web)UK franking machine cartridge manufacturer wins award for its growth in manufacturing and exporting.

Totalpost has announced that it has seen accelerated growth within the franking machine ink cartridge production industry over the last three years, and as a result has been selected for a Queens Award for Enterprise in International Trade.

Examples of the company’s recent success include an increase in export sales of 31 percent during 2011 and by 44 percent in the following year; which Totalpost claims was due to its ethos of providing the highest quality of product along with outstanding customer service.

Furthermore, in 2011 the company decided to take the manufacturing process completely in-house at its base in Cumbria, with an own filling line developed to complement the existing in-house design and software team. Totalpost said that this has allowed it to take full control of the testing and quality if the products and manage delivery times more efficiently.

A strong in-house exporting team has also been developed, enabling the company to research and understand key international markets and therefore accelerate export growth; while hardware sales of mailroom machines and X-ray screening equipment for threat detection in mail, parcels, baggage and freight; maintenance services and mail processing services for inbound and outbound mailings have also added to the company’s growth and exporting opportunities.

More recently, Totalpost has continued to expand overseas, with the opening of a new office in France and a further office expected to open in Germany soon. The company also intends to expand to the US, where it already has an office.

Commenting on the company’s success and on winning the award, David Hymers, Managing Director of Totalpost, said: “Totalpost’s growth would not have been possible without the phenomenal team that we have. We brought manufacturing in-house creating our own production process right through from coding to final product labelling. We carefully researched our markets and customers and above all else worked incredibly hard. I am delighted that the efforts of all staff have been recognised through this award.”

The Recycler recently reported on Totalpost’s efforts to help young entrepreneurs, with Hymers taking part in the Youth Enterprise mentoring programme, which educates young people about the business world.
