Franking machine cartridge manufacturer provides full mail audit to schools to save them 36 percent on postage.
UK-based Totalpost has announced that it is working with several schools across the country to educate them on how to cut costs on post, claiming that it has helped one school cut its postal costs by 36 percent.
The company gave an example of their work with a school in Carlisle, Cumbria which was buying stamps in bulk from Royal Mail to send out post, which was proving costly due to the school sending out around 100 first class letters each week.
To combat the issue, Totalpost provided a full mail audit to assess the school’s best options. The school was then offered several different plans, including the opportunity to trial a refurbished machine to see how it suited its needs before committing to a longer term contract or making a purchase.
The company includes details of all running costs up front so that new franking machine users are able to make a full assessment of the benefits; and Totalpost has said that the school is expected t o save a minimum of £672 ($1,021/€794) per year if it continues to send mail first class or £1,218 ($1,851/€1,439) per year if it decides to change to sending post second class, with the latter option being the school’s preference.
Totalpost says that some of the schools it is working with are using existing budgets to purchase new equipment, while others are planning to use their new financial year budgets; but that either way using franked instead of stamped mail would help to make the most of their administration budgets.
