LX-350 range of dot matrix printers aim to enlarge Epson’s business footprint in East Africa.
AllAfrica reports on the launch of Epson’s new range of compact printers, which are described as being energy efficient – using between 24 and 27 watts when turned on and barely over one watt when on standby.
The device offers multiple connectivity options, including parallel, serial and USB interfaces as standard, thus allowing quick integration with existing systems. It is also a compact size so that it is able to fit on desks.
Mukesh Bector, Regional Sales Manager at Epson, said: “Reliable, compact and economical, the Epson LX-350 has all your printing needs covered. Small and light enough to be used almost anywhere, the LX-350 also has incredibly low power consumption, helping to keep your carbon emissions and running costs down.”
The new printers have been developed by Epson to specifically address the needs of the local business community in Kenya “while offering quality, reliable after sale service”, which Bector says will determine the company’s business growth in East Africa. Epson has also introduced Label Works printers for the retail market in the region as well as Ultra-Short Throw projectors designed for learning institutions.
“The introduction of the new printers is in line with our plans to grow our business in the Kenyan market, which offers huge potential for growth,” Bector said. “Consumers especially in emerging markets like Sub-Saharan Africa have constantly expressed the need for saving money while going about their printing businesses, and at the same time increasing their productivity. The LX-350 ensures that these specific needs are met.”
The LX-350 printers are priced at Kshs 14,000 ($165/€127).
