Cartridge recycler and supplier among 28 nominees recognised by for corporate social responsibility (CSR).Embatex AG, based in Feldkirchen, Carinthia, Austria, has announced that it is among the top nominees in the Austrian CSR award, TRIGOS in recognition of its sustainable business model, resource-saving software EMPS, and social programmes for children and youth.
The 28 nominees were selected by the TRIGOS jury from a total of 188 submissions and have been awarded for their “holistic CSR commitment”. The award has been given to Austrian companies with the most effective activities in the CSR field since 2004 with the aim of raising public awareness of their achievements. More than 1,200 domestic companies have applied for the award since it was introduced, with 185 companies being awarded it nationally and regionally.
In order to achieve the award, companies must “assume their social responsibility as a business philosophy and strategically integrate it into all areas of their actions”; and the TRIGOS judges state that Embatex fulfilled these requirements: “The recycling and refilling of empty ink and toner cartridges at Embatex integrated sustainable management of the core business model,” the jury commented, adding that the re-use of cartridges made possible by Embatex makes “significant CO2 savings over the new products possible”.
Furthermore, the TRIGOS jury praised Embatex’s new self-learning service software, EMPS, which was launched in 2012 and enables automated remote management of heterogeneous printing environments, describing it as a “pioneering ecological concept”. They added that with the software, “printer environments can be continuously optimised, which in turn has a positive effect on energy and cost impacts”.
