The OEM has released the Designjet T920 and T1500 machines.
The two machines are said by the OEM to “improve user experience for architecture, engineering, construction and design professionals”, and are web-connected ePrinters allowing for mobility and synchronisation.
HP added that the machines are “designed to help busy workgroups complete work efficiently and meet deadlines” producing “fast, high quality prints”, with the ePrinter connectivity to the OEM’s cloud allowing easy collaboration. The devices are 36-inch machines designed with “extensive engagement with users” to address “pain points they suffer before, during and after” printing, with the output tray and front-roll media loading seen as “key areas for enhancement”.
The integrated output stacking tray has been moved to the top of the devices and helps organisation by “eliminat[ing] the need for users to bend down to collect prints”, whilst the industrial design “presents a flat surface” on top of the machines as a “media review table” built for “against-the-wall operation”. In terms of specifications, the machines have integrated stacking trays with capacities of up to 50 sheets, as well as print speeds of 21 seconds per A1 print and 32 gigabytes of internal memory.
The Designjet T1500 features two rolls, automatic alignment, a 320 gigabyte hard drive and full colour touch screen, and both machines feature six original HP inks and printheads. The ePrinter aspect includes Designjet ePrint & Share, a free online document storing and saving facility with Android and Apple compatibility, with the option to “automatically save copies of projects to the cloud when printing” as well as emailing files to a specified address.
Ramon Pastor, Vice President and General Manager of Large Format Printing at HP, stated: “Our customers constantly seek more efficient and user-friendly tools to bring their ideas to life.
“More than two decades after the launch of the first Designjet printer, HP continues to bring design, architecture, engineering and construction professionals large-format printing solutions with innovative features, such as the integrated stacking tray and true front-roll loading, that transform the in-house printing process as well as allow users more time for creativity.”
The T920 and T1500 will be available from 8 July worldwide from $5,395 (€4,118) and $7,495 (€5,721) respectively.
