Business Mirror reported on the launch of the devices by Brother International Corp. Philippines (BICP), including the HL-1110, the DCP-1510, the MFC-1810 and the MFC-1815, which are all monochrome laser printers and MFPs.

The Philippines has seen year-on-year growth in the sales of printers in the past year, as The Recycler reported earlier today, and the OEM added that its 2012 market share in laser MFPs was 30 percent, whilst single-use devices had an 19 percent share, and with the growing market in the country, Brother is aiming for 50 and 30 percent market share respectively by 2015.

The OEM also noted that the devices would help play into its projected target of $7.5 billion (€5.63 billion) in sales by 2015, in comparison to its target of $5.7 billion (€4.27 billion) in 2013.  The monochrome range released have been developed in turn to “meet the needs of markets like individual consumers, as well as small and medium businesses”, and are said to be made for “durability and robustness”.

Brother is also building a printer parts factory in the Philippines, at the First Philippine Industrial Park in Baranay Ulango, in Tanauan City, Batanagas, where $12 million (€9 million) will be invested in producing and exporting different printer components worldwide. Additionally, the OEM has similar facilities in Vietnam, China, Malaysia and Japan.

Glenn P. Hocson, BICP country manager, noted: “The new models we are introducing to consumers and businesses in the Philippines provide a winning combination of exceptional reliability with high-quality printouts at irresistible value. The series is a dream come true for users who want it all—reliability, affordability and design.”
