megwhitman-182x200Head of OEM’s printing and personal computer business takes on new position to improve business in China.

USA Today reports that HP has appointed Todd Bradley to a new position to help strength the company’s presence in China, following his role as head of HP’s PC business for seven years from 2005 to 2012, during which the company’s printing and personal systems businesses were combined into one unit.

In his new position, Bradley will work with CEO Meg Whitman to improve business in China and “extend relationships with important partners worldwide”, and will perform tasks such as identifying small and start-up companies that “could partner with HP to spur growth”.

According to the article, while HP is looking to emerging markets as potential areas of growth, it is facing competition in China from Chinese printer manufacturer Lenovo Group Ltd., which was the only OEM in the top five performing manufacturers to not see a decline in PC shipments compared to the previous year.

Bradley will be replaced by Dion Weisler, who is in charge of printing and personal systems for Asia-Pacific and Japan and has worked for HP since January last year.
