TechRadar reported on the launch of the bizhub 195, which Konica Minolta claims has “environmental benefits for simple print jobs” due to it being a monochrome machine aimed at “simple black and white printing and scanning” in small offices.

The site noted that the OEM is pitching the machine “as a device for straightforward tasks such as printing invoices and copying price lists”, though the machine also contains a series of features that “emphasise usability and green credentials”, including the ability to handle different paper formats and weights as well as LED and LCD capabilities for display and print status.

On a more technical level, the printer features a TWAIN scanning feature, which allows a user to “archive documents for quick access and reprinting”, as well as Simitri HD polymerised toner, which Konica Minolta claims “reduce[s] carbon-dioxide production in printing by 40 percent”. The bizhub 185 also features Energy Star accreditation, along with print speeds of 18ppm in A4 and 9ppm for A3 at resolutions of 600 x 600 dpi, with scans at the same resolution and a warm-up time of 29 seconds.
