MFC-J870dwMFC-J870dw colour inkjet MFP allows users to control printing using near-field communication (NFC).

PC World reports on the launch of the printer by Brother, which the OEM says is designed for SOHO users and has built-in NFC connectivity “unique among inkjets”.

The NFC is utilised by users touching another NFC-enabled device to the printer, transferring files that can then be printed. This means that users with mobile devices such as smartphones, which now commonly come equipped with built-in NFC, can easily print from these devices.

The printer also features Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity, automatic duplex printing and the ability to print on specially coated CD, DVD and Blu-Ray media, with a two-year warranty also included; all for a price of $150 (€115).
