David Hymers has been shortlisted for Institute of Directors (IOD) North West SME Company Director of the Year award.
Totalpost has announced that its Managing Director David Hymers has been shortlisted for the prestigious award after leading the company into growth and success since he set it up in 2002, with the company now operating internationally and running multiple subsidiary companies in France, Germany and, in the near future, South Africa.
The franking machine cartridge remanufacturer has also been put forward for an IOD award in innovation; and has recently expanded into the X-Ray security screening market, with equipment supplied by Astrophysics Inc. used across a variety of different applications including mailrooms, airports and public buildings to detect threats in mail. The company was also recently named Astrophysics’ most successful European distributor after securing over £1 million ($1.5 million/€1.16 million) of orders in six months.
Hymers made the decision in 2011 to bring the manufacturing of franking machine cartridges in-house to improve product quality and more effectively manage the manufacturing and delivery process, which the company states has also contributed to its growth.
Commenting on the awards, Hymers said: “I am delighted, surprised and humbled to have been nominated and shortlisted for these awards during a year which has been phenomenal for Totalpost so far. We have a great team of people at Totalpost without which such success would not be possible.”
The North West Final of the IOD Director of the Year will take place on 26th September at The Point, Lancashire Cricket Ground, where the winner will be announced.
The Recycler has reported on a number of Totalpost’s recent achievements, including the company winning two business awards for customer service and its export team; as well as the Queens Award for Enterprise in International Trade which it received in April.
