Case filed by OEM against EZ Replacement Labels, LLC over alleged infringement of two patents.
Brother has announced that it has filed a patent infringement case in the US District Court for the District of Delaware after accusing EZ Replacement Labels, LLC of infringing patent no. RE43,228, entitled “Tape Cassette For Use With A Printing Device”; and patent no. RE43,022 which relates to “Tape-Shaped Label Printing Device”.
The case was filed on 18 June, with the patents covering tape cassettes used in Brother’s P-Touch labelling machines.
Toshikazu Koike, President of Brother Industries, stated: “Brother Industries is committed to vigorously enforcing its patent rights in the United States and around the world.”
