The cartridges in the SmarTact range feature “core technology” with a “patented switching system, enabling a contact development cartridge to work in a jump development printer”. The company added that “numerous other patented design and technologies are embedded in SmarTact cartridge[s]” and contribute to the products’ “superior quality, performance and page yield”.
The company noted in turn that the cartridges feature a number of unique features, including a toner recycling system that “allow[s] the unused toner to re-channel back to the toner hopper for re-use”, a chip holder to “improve the contact between the chip and the printer”, a switching system to “resolve the problems of backgrounding and poor fusing”, and the NoTwist patented gear, which is unaffected by the USITC’s recent General Exclusion Order in the Canon toner gear patent case.
