The new products have been released in the company’s Absolute Black and X Generation product ranges.
Three of the product releases come under the Absolute Black product range from Uninet, with the first release of toner and components for use in Ricoh’s Aficio SP 5210 and 5200 monochrome MFPs. The 5210 features a print speed of 52ppm and is “targeted at midsized workgroups”, with printing, copying, scanning, faxing and duplexing as well as an auto-reversing document feeder included.
The machine, said to be a “bit pricey” at $3,500 (€2,631) according to Uninet, has a “very reasonable” supplies cost, with an all-in-one toner cartridge rated at 25,000 pages, working out at a cost-per-page of less than one US cent. Uninet noted in turn that it “offers a complete remanufacturing solution” for the cartridge included in the Ricoh printer.
The second Absolute Black release is MICR toner and a conversion kit for HP’s LaserJet Enterprise M712 and M725 MFPs. Uninet notes that its “premium quality” MICR toner is “exclusively formulated to print checks”, and the formula is “guaranteed for trouble-free performance” and “meets banking industry check-clearing systems and standards”.
In terms of the conversion kit, Uninet states that “empty cores for this newly-released printer are not readily available yet”, meaning the conversion kit is an “ideal solution” allowing for conversions of older and cheaper HP 5200 (Q7516A) cartridges for use in the machines, requiring a “small amount of machining” and the addition of a “new drum bearing plate and trigger arm”.
The final Absolute Black product release is toner and components for use in Samsung’s SCX-4650 monochrome laser printer, a new 24ppm, three-in-one MFP from the OEM. Uninet states that the machine is “ideal for home or small workgroups”, and includes a single button “Eco Mode” to “reduce the toner” used in printing, and adds that it offers a “complete remanufacturing solution” for these cartridges.
The final product launch from Uninet this month is in its X Generation range, with new multipurpose colour toner now available for use in HP’s LaserJet Pro 200 M251 and 276 MFPs. The new formula is qualified for use in HP’s CP1215, 1518 and 2025 machines as well, using “all OEM and Uninet components”. The formula, Uninet adds, offers “higher gloss levels, improved fusing and colour matching characteristics” to “mimic the performance” of the new printer releases.
Uninet noted in turn that the toner formula “is by far the lowest cost solution when used on all OEM components”, because “like most Uninet toners, this formula does not cause excessive wear on critical components” including the doctor blade and rollers, adding that “this is a trend for most new colour laser machines being released as they compete with inkjets and try to deliver near photographic quality printing”. The company also offers a complete remanufacturing solution for the cartridges.
