Course on colour measurement will take place on 7 November at Brownsover Hall Hotel, Rugby, UK.
Former President of the Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC), Susan Williams, will be hosting a Colour Education Course held by Konica Minolta to help those in the colouration industry to understand the best practice of both visual and instrumental colour assessment combined with a greater understanding of colour theory.
The course is aimed for those new and old to colour, particularly those who have experienced quality issues with their customers or suppliers or those looking to improve processes or global colour communication with other locations. Among the topics covered will be ‘The Importance of colour’; ‘Best practice for visual assessment’; ‘Colour communication’; ‘Optimising colour difference equations’; and ‘Best practice for colour measurement’.
Susan Williams has had 40 years experience in colour measurement in the colouration industry having been a founder member and Director of Instrumental Colour Systems Limited, the UK’s first colour measurement company. She has worked closely with retailers and specifiers to establish best practice colour management within their supply chains, and has written many papers and delivered lectures on all aspects of colour measurement. In addition, Williams was awarded the SDC’s Gold Medal in 2006 for significant contribution to colour measurement.
The course will run from 9am until 5pm, with registration from 8.30am. Delegates are also invited to a dinner reception at the hotel on the evening of 6 November, which will be free for those who book a place on the course before 7 October and will give people the opportunity to meet the course tutor, the Konica Minolta team and fellow delegates. Those in attendance will also have the opportunity to try a range of Konica Minolta instruments, accessories and software packages.
Places on the course cost £295 ($451/€345), with a discount available if more than one person attends from the same company. Those interested in attending or requesting further information should email info.uk@seu.konicamonolta.eu with the subject line “Colour Education Course” and including their contact details, or complete the online form.
