SureColor SC-F2000 added to OEM’s portfolio of textile devices.
Print Week reports on the release of the Epson SureColor SC-F2000, the OEM’s first direct-to-garment t-shirt printer, which uses Epson’s Garment Creator software, TFP printheads, chassis and Ultrachrome DG inks to print on a range of items, including t-shirts, caps and fabric bags up to 25mm in size.
The printer offers resolutions of up to 1400dpi and can use two sets of CMYK ink for white garments or CMYK with up to four white ink channels when printing on coloured or dark garments. In terms of speeds, white t-shirts can be printed in 27 seconds when in dual colour mode, while dark garments can be printed in less than two minutes in a white and coloured ink mode.
Phil McMullin, Sales Manager for Professional Graphics at Epson, commented: “There are a lot of units out there that are using Epson technology already but not that are a complete solution from a manufacturer like us. This meets customer demand for something that is fully integrated with our proven reliability and quality.”
He added that the device is aimed at a “broad cross-section of businesses”, from high street and micro businesses to larger businesses looking to offer added services to customers.
The Ultrachrome DG inks are available from Epson in either 250ml or 600ml cartridges; with the printer itself costing €20,800 ($27,500) and available to be shipped from November.
McMullin added that Epson is currently looking for potential resellers for the product: “We are looking for partners with deep knowledge in this industry and already have access to the pre-treatment and finishing technologies used with this kind of process.”
