The two machines are in the imageCLASS MFP range, and include “secure print and productivity solutions”.
The imageCLASS MF6180dw and MF6160dw monochrome MFPS are successors to the OEM’s imageCLASS MF5950dw and MF5960dn MFPs, and provide “a variety of document management options” for medium-sized businesses, including secure printing, compatibility with Google’s Cloud Print, and wireless and address book searching capabilities.
The MF6160dw has added PCL language support, which allows printing “from a wide variety of applications”, whilst the MF6180dw features wireless connectivity, with both machines featuring Google Cloud Print mobile printing technology, duplex printing, and simple solution keys, which Canon states “allow users to easily access the scan and eco-copy functions.
The OEM also noted that the two printers have print speeds of up to 35ppm, paper sheet capacity of 250 pages, and a single cartridge system, which it notes “combines all the critical components such as toner, drum and waste unit into one consumable”. Scanned documents can be sent directly to email or a file server, and the secure printing features allow companies to have the ability “to control device usage”. A higher capacity cartridge is also available so that users “can also enjoy a lower cost per page as compared to the standard cartridge”.
Sam Yoshida, Vice President and General Manager of Marketing, Business Solutions Group at Canon USA, stated: “With the newest additions to our imageCLASS MFP line, we are continuing to meet increasing customer demands for greater functionality and performance by providing end-users the tools they need to meet their individual document needs.
“These imageCLASS MFP models offer speed and superb functionality, a key combination of features needed for any modern office.”
The MF6180dw and MF6160dw are available from the end of September at $499 (€376) and $399 (€300) respectively.
