US cartridge retailer relocates to California

fremontcaliforniaCompAndSave has moved from Portland, Oregon to Fremont after seven years.

The company, which retails inkjet and toner cartridges in the USA, reported that a “brighter future awaits” it as it moves back to California from Oregon, after seven years. The company, founded in 2003, stated that the move will “provide significant strategic advantages” after its move to Oregon to take advantages of the “tax benefits for businesses” there.

The company’s growth in the retail industry has now given it the “wherewithal to re-establish operations” in the Bay Area of California, near to Silicon Valley, with CEO Andrew Yeung deciding that now was the “opportune time to relocate operations”. Logistically speaking, Yeung noted there are “obvious” advantages to being in the “vicinity of other companies” in Silicon Valley, with the “golden opportunity” to grow its customer base “exponentially” with “proximity” to California’s ports.

CompAndSave has apparently also seen “recent doubling of sales figures”, with 2012 seeing over half a million inkjet cartridges sold, and the move gives the company the benefit of “an enormous new warehouse space with the potential to accommodate hundreds of staff members and a huge inventory of stock”, adding to the “significant” advantages of relocating there, including “easy access to highly trained and talented personnel”.

In terms of future plans, Yeung noted he “remains positive”, with new products planned to be added to the company’s inventory.
