190 counterfeit ink and toner cartridges seized by local police teams in Colombo in co-operation with HP.
The Nation reports that 116 counterfeit ink cartridges and 74 counterfeit toner cartridges were seized in Colombo, Sri Lanka recently in a raid that led to the arrest of four individuals.
The operation was part of HP’s anti-counterfeiting activity, with the OEM “engaging in industry-leading anti-counterfeiting practices to combat the fraudulent manufacture, distribution and sale of counterfeit HP supplies products”. This has led to the confiscation of over 25 million units of counterfeit cartridges and components in the Asia Pacific region over the past four years.
