OEM introduces three new models in the Middle East, said to be compact and “ideal for personal and home office use”.
The PIXMA MG2440, MG2540 and MG3540 all-in-one inkjet printers have been released by Canon Middle East, offering print, scan and copy functionality for home office users, reports Albawaba.
While the MG2440 and MG2540 come in a matte light grey finish and matte white finish, the MG3540 is available in wither black or white finish to suit a range of home environments. The device also features Wi-Fi connectivity and supports mobile printing, as well as being capable of producing high quality photo prints. The model also supports Google Cloud Print, enabling users to print PDF and JPEG attachments from their Gmail and print from Google Docs from “virtually anywhere”.
The MG3540 is also compatible with the new PIXMA Printing Solutions app, which is available to download for free from iTunes or Google Play and aims to make printing from a connected device easier and allows users to control the printer without the need for a PC. The app also features advance ‘scan saving’ settings for scanning directly to an iCloud service, to email or to save locally, as well as providing access to the printer manual and to information on compatible ink model numbers.
All three new models work on Canon’s FINE ink technology, delivering a minimum 2pl droplet size with a maximum 4800dpi for high-quality print resolution. They also use Canon’s hybrid ink system, ensuring the devices are suitable for printing both photo prints and text documents at a high quality.
In terms of print speeds, the MG2440 and MG2540 produce black and white documents at around ISO ESAT 8.0 ipm and colour documents at ISO ESAT 4.0 ipm; while the MG3540 is able to print at faster speeds of ISO ESAT 9.9 ipm for black and white documents and ISO ESAT 5.7 ipm for colour prints. It also offers to reduce paper use with its Auto two-sided optional feature, and saves energy through its Auto Power On function.
Canon’s My Image Garden software is included in all three models, boasting a range of features to ensure easy navigation between printing and scanning functions, as well as Canon’s Full HD Movie Print for creating photo prints from films taken on Canon compact cameras, video cameras or DSLRs.
