usnavyThe OEM has signed a 10-year contract worth $94 million to supply the US Navy.

The deal, worth $94 million (€68.2 million), will see the OEM supply the US Navy, with whom it has had a “long-term” working relationship, with “onboard document needs” for its ships and vessels across the globe.

Xerox stated that it will provide “installation, training and supplies procurement” for MFPs that it will supply the Navy with across its fleet, with production devices also included. 18 technicians will be deployed in the ships and carriers to “provide onboard document management services and support”, with the onboard use stated to “simplify work processes” including scanning files and automatically sharing them via email, network folders or USB drives.

Noting that “nearly” 16 million prints are made annually amongst Navy officials, including technical training documents and photobooks, Xerox stated that “a major contributor” to earning the contract was its devices’ “advanced security” – its Xerox Secure Print technology “requires a personal identification number for users to release documents”, with a front-panel PIN required to protect access to each machine’s features.

Kevin Warren, President of US Client Operations for Xerox, stated: “Fulfilling the document management needs of the Navy is a responsibility we take very seriously and will do so with efficiency and responsiveness. The combination of Xerox’s technology, services and support lets organisations of all sizes simplify their printing needs, allowing them to focus on their core business objectives.”
