The HL-S7000DN is said to be an alternative to laser printers for medium and large workgroups.

The OEM’s new machine, which features print speeds of up to 100ppm in monochrome, also features Brother’s page-wide SmartArray print technology, a 600-sheet input count that can be expanded to 2,100 sheets with three optional 500-sheet trays, and a “super high-yield” inkjet cartridge that can print up to 30,000 pages in one lifecycle.

Brother refers to the machine as one that “changes the face of professional printing” due to its high print speed, noting in turn that it costs “less than a penny per page” as well as “using significantly less energy than conventional office printers”. This is due to its utilisation of the OEM’s Cold Process Print System, which uses 66 percent less energy than laser printers, according to Brother.

Other features of the machine include automatic duplexing, wireless and Ethernet networking, and a print resolution of 600 x 600 dpi. Brother notes in turn that it has a recommended monthly volume of 5,000 to 20,000 pages, and is “an ideal alternative to or replacement for either single or multiple office devices”, with networking features and web management tools allowing companies to “increase productivity while simultaneously decreasing their print fleet size and expenditures”.

Jeff Sandler, Director of Inkjet Product Planning at Brother, stated: “With the introduction of the HL-S7000DN, Brother has created a unique and innovative output solution for workgroups and offices.

“For organisations that demand a reliable method of producing short bursts of high-speed printing, there’s simply nothing on the market that compares. When you factor in its low operating costs and low power consumption, as well as its flexible and expandable design, the HL-S7000DN stands in a class of its own.”
