The new products released by the distributor are for HP, Lexmark and Ricoh cartridges.

HP’s Laserjet P4014

The first HP release is under Uninet’s X Generation product range, and is black multipurpose toner formula for use in HP’s P4014, 4015, 4515, M4555, M603, 602 and 601 monochrome laser printers. The company notes that when the 4014, 4015 and 4515 were first released, remanufacturers “discovered that toner was critical in these higher speed machines”, and that it took some time “before an acceptable toner became available, mainly due to fusing issues”.

The multipurpose toner works in the older and newer machines, and Uninet adds that it has also been qualified to work with “all Uninet and OEM components”, noting that it “represents the lowest cost solution product when using all OEM components, and provides improved fusing and great page yield”.

The second HP release is again multipurpose toner, but this time under Uninet’s Absolute Black product range, and is black toner for HP’s P1005, 1006, 107, 1102, 1505 and 1606 machines. The multipurpose toner is designed to “deliver the highest density printing in the market” on both “used single cycle OEM drums and new replacement drums”, with the company noting that many remanufacturers around the world “still reuse OEM drums in certain market segments”.

It adds that all aftermarket toners to date have given “light printing” when combined with used OEM drums, and states that its new toner “allows remanufacturers to use the same toner” across the aforementioned models, whether they are reusing OEM drums or not. The toner is also qualified to work with Uninet and OEM components, and “represents the lowest cost solution” according to the company.

The first Lexmark product release from Uninet is X Generation colour toner and components for the OEM’s C734 and 736 machines as well as the X734, 736 and 738 devices. The machines, of which the X versions are MFP variants of the C versions, were Lexmark’s “top colour laser printer/MFPs” until upgrades were released earlier this year, and feature 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution along with print speeds of up to 35ppm, with Uninet noting that they were intended for “high volume applications”.

The company adds that toner cartridges are available in standard and high yields, with the former featuring 8,000 page yields for black and 6,000 pages for colour, and the latter 12,000 pages for black and 10,000 pages for colour. Uninet added that it offers a complete remanufacturing solution for the cartridges as well.

The second Lexmark product release is again X Generation colour toner and components, this time for Lexmark’s C950 and 952 printers and its X950 and X952 devices. The colour machines, of which the C are single function and the X are MFPs, are “current top of the line” devices based on the same printer engine, with print speeds of up to 50ppm for colour and 55ppm for black.

Uninet adds that the devices are recommended for up to 33,000 pages a month, and are targeted at large workgroups, with standard duplexing and other MFP features. Toner and photoconductor units are supplied separately, and cartridges are rated at 32,000 pages in black and 22,000 pages in colour, whilst the photoconductor unit is a single item working for all four colours, with Uninet stating that it is categorised as an “easy to remanufacture” cartridge.

The final release from Uninet this month is for Ricoh, and is Absolute Black toner formula and components for the OEM’s Aficio SP 5200DN, 5210, SP 5200S, 5210SF and 5210SR monochrome machines. The recently released SP 5200dn and 5210 feature print speeds of up to 552ppm, with the rest of the machines MFP versions of these, and all use the same toner cartridge – the SP 5200 HA – which has a yield of 25,000 pages.

Uninet notes that the machines “are targeted at medium-sized workgroup environments”, and the all-in-one cartridge design “make[s] this an easy addition to a remanufacturer’s product line”.
