Stationer expands cartridge recycling programme in the US, offering an online solution for its Staples Rewards customers.
OPI has reported that stationer retailer Staples is now offering an online ink and toner recycling programme as an expansion of its in-store Staples Rewards recycling initiative; allowing Staples Rewards members to send their printer cartridges for recycling using a pre-paid shipping label in exchange for $2 () in Staples Rewards for each cartridge sent in.
It was reported in August that the retailer had recycled 350 million ink and toner cartridges since 2005 through the Staples Rewards programme, averaging over 60 million cartridges per year in the past three years.
