terrificvaluerecyclingTerrific Value Office Supplies is recycling used cartridges to raise money for the air ambulance service in Hertfordshire.

Hertfordshire Mercury reported on the Hoddesdon-based company’s pledge to “raise money” through recycling used inkjet and toner cartridges for the county’s air ambulance service, with the aim of raising £5,000 ($8,202/€6,046) over the next five years.

The company will collect the used consumables as well as mobile phones from local businesses for free, “whether or not they are a customer”, and follows in the footsteps of the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) in the north of England, which has begun recycling toner cartridges to fund its helicopters.

Terrific Value Office Supplies’ Managing Director, Colin Nobes, said: “We are thrilled to support Herts Air Ambulance through our recycling scheme. What is ‘rubbish’ to most businesses is money to Herts Air Ambulance.”

Dawn Easby, from the Air Ambulance Trust, added: “The best thing is that they’ve made it so easy for other businesses to get involved,” urging companies to join the “ingenious” scheme.
