Owners of store in Morris Plains, New Jersey say bringing dogs into store teaches them to interact with people.

NJ.com reported that Kathleen and Art Petitt, owners of a Cartridge World store in Morris Plains, New Jersey, have been using their store to help train young guide dogs after the couple signed up to a guide dog training programme with the Seeing Eye guide dog school.

The puppies are brought into the store on a daily basis “to be around customers and learn to interact with people”, with the Petitts signing on to train a seven-month old puppy – usually a golden retriever, Labrador or German shepherd – for 13 to 15 weeks at a time. So far they have trained four dogs since joining the programme.
