The company’s cartridges were rated better than the OEM by 91 percent of respondents.
PBS-Business (article in German) reported on the “test with clear results” of Edding’s cartridges undertaken in September 2013, with 454 consumers testing a complete set of the company’s 140 compatible cartridges designed for a range of OEM products including Brother, Canon, Epson and HP. The study, by independent market research institute Opinion, saw consumers rate the cartridges’ print quality on a scale from one to seven, with an average score of six recorded.
The best result for the company was that 91 percent of the respondents stated that they would describe the quality of the products as “even better or just as good” as the cartridge “commonly used” by them, though no information was given as to how many consumers used original or alternative consumables.
The site notes that “consumers who have been using mainly original cartridges” would perhaps be convinced to use Edding’s consumables, with 76 percent of respondents also stating that they would use Edding products again. Other, more detailed criteria surveyed included colour brilliance, selectivity and ink drying, with 88 percent of respondents stating that they could easily handle the cartridges”, with more than 75 percent stating installation was “done easily and quickly”.
