Surge in European presence at this year’s trade fair, taking place from 4 to 6 March in Dubai.
Trade fair organiser Messe Frankfurt has announced that there will be a stronger European presence at this year’s Paperworld Middle East, as European companies continue to be attracted by the Middle East’s steadily growing economies.
Paperworld Middle East, which incorporates the aftermarket’s annual Remanexpo@Paperworld Middle East trade show, is seen by many European companies as a key way into regional expansion as business development in the European market remains slow.
In particular, there will be a large increase in French exhibitors, who will have a 154 percent larger presence than last year’s show; while Spanish exhibitors will take up 90 percent more exhibitor space than the 2013 event. Meanwhile, there will also be a significant increase in companies exhibiting from Greece, Italy, the UK and the Netherlands, which will take up between 14 and 44 percent more space than the previous year.
Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt, said: “With the region enjoying a sustained period of economic growth it has become increasingly attractive to European manufacturers in search of vibrant new markets to offset the slowdown in Europe.
“European exhibitors are already familiar with the Paperworld brand and see the Middle East exhibition as an ideal platform to gain traction in the regional markets as well as gain an in-depth understanding of current regional trends.”
Office supplies company Fopi Ltd., based in Latvia, is among those planning to exhibit at the show. CEO of the company, Pavel Ustinovics, said: “We regard Paperworld Middle East as a good opportunity to increase our sales geography as well as to promote our brand to new markets. We sincerely hope we can succeed in achieving these goals.”
The Recycler reported that the show is also expected to attract more exhibitors and visitors from the local region looking to use it as a “launch pad into wider markets in the region and beyond”.
