The franchise in Sudbury, Suffolk, is raising money for St. Nicholas Hospice Care.
Suffolk Free Press reported on the Cartridge World UK store in Borehamgate, Sudbury, which is raising money from recycling cartridges and donating it to a local hospice that provides support to people suffering life-threatening illnesses and their families.
The cartridges donated to the store are assessed, with staff seeing “what can be used again”, and if nothing can be reused, the cartridges are sent to a depot for recycling. The store has been in Sudbury’s Borehamgate precinct for eight years, and has already sent its first 16 boxes to the depot, with the newspaper sharing its request for any used inkjet and toner cartridges to be brought into the store.
Store Manager Sharon Buckler stated: “When we realised that our recycling could benefit a well-known charity, we were thrilled that we could help it receive cash back for qualifying cartridges.
“We would urge people and particularly local businesses not to just throw away their old cartridges but to bring them to us where we can sort them and arrange pick-ups for cash for the hospice. It is a win-win situation.”
Another Cartridge World UK franchisee has been raising money for a hospice, with the store in Nuneaton raising money for Mary Evans Hospice.
