In-Map signs MPS software deal with OKI Europe

Jan 30, 2014

The sales and mapping software provider will work with the OEM to support its Smart MPS.inmap

OKI Europe will utilise the In-Map software “initially within the UK and Ireland”, but is planning to expand its use to “other parts of the company’s European organisation” at a later date. The In-Map software, the company states, is focused on “automated sales proposal and mapping”, and the company previously signed a deal with Konica Minolta Business Solutions Asia along similar lines.

The software will work alongside PrintFleet’s third-party fleet management tool, allowing OKI Europe to “collect a customer’s print data” including device model and volume, with the data helping to “form the baseline” of a customer’s environment, with the data analysed using either the customer’s cost or the “relevant market price” derived from In-Map’s device database to calculate the “current cost of ownership”.

In-Map added that OKI Europe will “aid visualisation” of customers’ existing environments by using In-Map’s mapping function, which can “place devices on floorplans, digitally representing their actual location in the customer’s environment”. Once data is compiled, the OEM will analyse the customer’s printer fleet, suggesting “optimised device layout” and cost analysis.

The company noted that “the automation […] reduces time and the potential errors from manual effort”, and that with the time saved, OKI Europe can “generate a number of scenarios, from which the optimum approach for the customer can be selected”, with end-users said to be able to “expect consistency”.

Jan De Kesel, Managing Director of In-Map, stated: “A picture paints a thousand words or so they say. In-Map turns the whole current engagement and approach to Managed Print Services on its head, and following a test phase, OKI Europe recognised the strong benefits the In-Map software offers in support of their Managed Print Services customer engagement. ”

Javier Lopez, Senior Manager for MPS at OKI Europe, added: “The In-Map generated reports for both the existing and proposed environments with the use of visual floor-plans and TCO financial figures enhance the customer’s understanding of their current situation and how OKI’s Smart Managed Print Services proposals can improve their print environment.”
