The cuts come as part of 7,000 cuts across Europe planned for 2014.
This is Money reported that the cuts, which follow on from the 1,124 jobs removed in December 2013 across the UK, form part of 7,000 more planned for Europe over the course of 2014.
30 roles at Autonomy’s headquarters in Cambridge were said to be under threat in recent developments, and it is thought by This is Money that “talks have been planned for several weeks” with union officials in the UK regarding cuts in both the UK and Europe, with HP insisting previously that “there are no plans to cut the workforce in Cambridge”.
It is not known how many jobs might go in the UK, as HP has “not decided” how many will be cut across Europe and where, with the latest development only arising because the cuts can only happen in “three month waves, with the last wave ending at the end of January”. This in turn means that this week is the “first time the company can discuss its plans for the coming three months with the unions”.
