SacBee reported on the appointment of Egawa, who replaces Ogawa as President and CEO after the latter’s six years at Canon Canada. Ogawa is moving on to work in an executive position at Canon China and Canon Asia, with Egawa having 31 years’ worth of experience working for the OEM.

Egawa began his career in the International Business Management department, and was responsible for corporate office equipment sales, with later experience in several of Canon’s regional departments, including Japan and the USA, as well as a year’s experience at Canon Canada in its Camera and Video division in 1984.

He was recently Vice President and General Manager of Strategy Planning and Administration for Canon USA’s Imaging Technologies and Communications Group (ITCG), working for 16 years in a position where he was responsible for the “strategic direction and business operations” for Canon’s digital photographic and imaging solutions products.

Joe Adachi, President and CEO of Canon USA and Chairman of Canon Canada, stated: “I want to thank Kevin for leading and guiding Canon Canada over the past six years. He successfully grew Canon’s brand and presence in the Canadian market and effectively led the organisation under challenging economic conditions. We wish him well on his new assignment with Canon China.

“Ted will be a great addition to Canada’s leadership team. He played an integral role in strengthening Canon USA’s Imaging Technologies and Communications Group business and expanded our company’s reach into new domains. He is a strong leader, whose skills and abilities will serve the Canadian region well.”

Canon Canada recently assumed Océ Canada’s operations, in a move that has been repeated globally over the past few years as Canon appropriates Océ’s businesses after acquiring it.
