Feb 12, 2014

okic900ausThe five toner LED printers are “a game changer” for the market.

PR Wire reported on the devices’ launch in Australia, with the OEM’s distributor Comworth Technologies stating that they are a “game changer” that close the gap “between printers and copiers”.

The range includes the C911dn, C931dn and C941dn, which are said to have been developed “to meet a wide range of graphic arts as well as commercial printing needs”, with the Single Pass Colour technology in each device allowing for “faster print speeds, superior colour resolution and registration, and expanded media handling capabilities”.

Each machine delivers print speeds of up to 50ppm and yields of up to 38,000 pages, with a recommended monthly print volume of 25,000 pages. The C941dn offers CMYK and white toners, whilst the C931dn and C911dn are less-advanced devices that still offer higher output and lower total costs of ownership (TCO).

Paul Francois, Product Manager at Comworth, stated: “These A3 machines go far beyond the capabilities of traditional digital colour printers, with the C941dn featuring an industry-first LED five station toner configuration that supports white or clear spot colour printing.

“These new printers underscore OKI’s technological leadership and ability to deliver innovative, high functioning and high quality printing solutions to an evolving marketplace. These machines are ideal for companies that require high-quality output, media handling flexibility, and colour consistency. Jobs which until recently would have to be sent to specialist printing houses can now be done on-site, saving time and money – and helping graphics-intensive businesses to achieve a competitive edge.”

OKI recently reported on an A3 five-colour machine, which it will show at the IPEX trade show event in London in March.
